Rating Review
Customer Rating I don't understand why this is a bestseller.
I'm halfway through the book, and the "melodic gems" are very dissappointing.
Hardly one out of ten lines sounds nice.
Maybe it's because I'm not an accomplished jazzplayer, but the statement "This is the ideal book for beginners seeking a well-organized, easy-to-follow encyclopedia of jazz vocabulary" convinced me to buy it. How unfortunate...

Customer Rating From Parker to Brecker...charming cool ii-v-i, Coltrane tune, turnaround licks...Highly recommended!

Customer Rating Maybe these sort of improvisation tutors are just too hard to get right. It seemed to be just page after page of rather unmelodic sketching, with no centre and no way of really getting a handle on the proceedings. Perhaps the only way to learn improvisation is just to listen to those who've gone before.
