Great illustrations.Clear print, large for smaller children.Moves at a steady pace ideal for young children.
Would be good to have more tunes using both hands. More teacher accompaniments would be good too.

Colourful, engaging, good progressions. Interesting how many children have no idea what some of the 'popular' tunes/ nursery rhyme/ playground songs are!
Every now and again I want more 'both hands together' but it is generally a very good book for lower primary school aged children playing the piano

Musicroom Reviews

Rating Review
Customer Rating This book is very good. It is the second of the ten fingers series and pupils are now looking at rests, dynamics, articulation and chords. The pictures and puzzles within this book make it lively and fun to work through with any pupil.

Customer Rating A good follow on to book 1 in that it's still providing opportunities for lots of practice in the first hand position. The visual aspects of books 1 and 2 are very good - keeps little ones interested!!

Customer Rating A good progression from the first book, again with tunes that children will enjoy playing.

Customer Rating An excellent follow on from the first in the series. This series are excellent or young begginners, as they provide a fun way to learn and play well known tunes very quickly.

Customer Rating Clearly laid out, nicely illustrated, gentle progression of tunes, some familiar some not.

Customer Rating This is an excellent follow up to the first book - Tunes for Ten Fingers. The tunes are appealing with fun songs and colourful pictures to keep the pupil entertained. A good mix of technical progression with fun pieces and puzzles and games. Recommended.

Customer Rating Good for small children but lacking in 2 hands together

Customer Rating This series is great for the beginner. It really helps the younger pupil develop the skills to moves about the keyboard with confidence.

Customer Rating I normally use John Thompson's piano course, but i recently started teaching some 5 year olds who were already using this series. I would recommend this series for young children as it gives names to the notes - for example 'doggie d', which the children can really latch on to. I will definately use this series again when i teach younger children.

Customer Rating This follows on nicely from the first book in the series and is great for younger children or pupils who like to progress in small stages; moving quickly through a book. My only reservation with this book is the instruction to say 'shhh' in the crotchet rests. I crossed it out but was not impressed.

Customer Rating An excellent follow-up from 'Tunes for Ten Fingers', this book introduces new concepts slowly and clearly, allowing (particularly the young) pupils to learn steadily and confidently. Nice, singable tunes too!

Customer Rating Helpful and fun book for young beginners.

Customer Rating I use this book for children who are learning slowly but positively. It introduces new concepts at a helpful rate and all the children like the pictures and accompanying words.
