Musicroom Reviews

Rating Review
Customer Rating I have used this tutorial for over two years now and find it to be clear and simple to follow, as do my pupils, aged 5-60yrs. It teaches the basics clearly and concisely, the illustrations are eye-catching and has a sense of fun about it that is appealing. Having browsed the other tutorials available I have no hesitation in highly recommending it.

Customer Rating I was recommended this series of books by my professor at the Royal Academy of Music and I have to say that over the past fifteen years I have found them wonderful. I would highly recommend the whole series to any piano teacher.

Customer Rating I have looked and most of the books on the market and this one is great for children. The illustrations are good - not too busy - and the information is put across in a clear and easy-to-understand way, and everything leads on well to the next step .I highly recommend this book and I will continue to work through the rest of the series.

Customer Rating This book was recommended by my daughter's piano teacher - My daughter has sailed through it, learning very quickly, (and enjoying her learning) so quickly we have just ordered the next two books in the series.

Customer Rating This is a very good book!! My pupil started the course in September and has finished it already...am in the process of buying the second book! It is very simple and does not rush their learning. I would highly recommend it to anyone who has a young pupil or has started teaching for the first time and is uncertain of what book to get.

Customer Rating This book is fantastic for young beginners!I have taught from a number of beginner books and this is by far the best. I would advise any one teaching 4-8 year olds to get this book. Its format is outstanding and keeps pupils focused. Best of all they enjoy learning!

Customer Rating This is an excellent starter book for young pianists and would highly recommend it.

Customer Rating I first used this book when teaching beginners' piano in the late 1990s. I had used a number of others but as soon as I found this I knew I would stick with it for my young beginners.
It is by far the best starter book for young children that I have come across. Not only are the colours and pictures and styles appealing to little ones; the pace is right, the tunes are attractive and there are enough familiar things in here (such as "Happy Birthday") to help provide a real sense of achievement and progress to young learners.
When my brother asked me to pick a starter book for my 7-year-old nephew who is about to learn piano for the first time, I had no hesitation in going straight for "Tunes for Ten Fingers".

Customer Rating An excellent beginner tutor book for young children. Pupils are always excited as they try each new piece. It keeps their interest whilst reinforcing the basics.

Customer Rating This is an excellent first book for young beginners. It proceeds one note at a time in Middle C position. The layout and illustrations are attractive and it contains some tunes that children may already know.

Customer Rating i'm sure it will bring great pleasure to my granddaughter

Customer Rating The best beginner piano book for all ages.

Customer Rating I have just started teaching the piano and I really valued the reviews and star rating. It helped me buy a modern and coherent study programme and my pupil is really enjoying it already!

Customer Rating the best tutor book for young beginners, ever!

Customer Rating First class book for the younger pupil

Customer Rating Great beginners piano book. I swear by this for young children and have used it for years based on the recommendation of others.

Customer Rating Its ok for children aged 7+ but I still use john thompson as slower and easier to follow.
I use the Elza Lusher "dogs and birds" for little children and after 4 months they can play briliantly with ease.
Some of the tunes in here and boring and kids often tell me so!

Customer Rating Great tutor for young beginners, but it's a pity the price is a bit top-end. Parents like to make sure the child will stick with it before paying out too much!! However, still a good, effective method.

Customer Rating A brilliant little book for starting 7 years olds

Customer Rating I have taught many young children over the years and I find Ten Fingers an excellent book, introducing the first notes slowly but in a fun way, giving the children a sense of real acheivement when playing the simplest of tunes

Customer Rating beautifully presented, nice slow progression and good mix of well known tunes and others that are not so familiar

Customer Rating Clear, easy to use and adapt to your own teaching style. Though if used exclusively as your curriculum your pupils will be missing out on developing improvisational skills.

Customer Rating I was advised to buy this book by my sons piano teacher as he is a beginner. Everyone is happy, seems like a good book and I could not believe it when the book arrived in the post the day after I ordered it, brilliant !.

Customer Rating Used this title for 15years of piano teaching...still the best!

Customer Rating I really like this book, having tried it based on previous reviews - more "modern" than John Thompson course. My pupils (aged 5 - 8) have taken to it well, it is fairly gentle pace though, so I have found those with real aptitude whizz through it.

Customer Rating Not a good tutor book. It uses the typical British system of keeping the thumb on Middle C for a long time. This usually leads students to read the fingering rather than the notes, and once they get to the stage of moving hands into different positions on the piano, they have terrible problems because they associate a particular note with a particular finger. Many of the tunes are also rather boring. Better books easily available on the market are the Piano Adventures series.

Customer Rating Excellent service delighted with the book my five year old girl likes it too. I will certainly continue with your tutorials as she progresses. Very pleased with my purchase.

Customer Rating I am very impressed with this book & like the way that the LH is brought in early on enabling the student to gain confidence in playing both hands together pretty soon. The tunes are accessible and challenging and pace of the book is just right for a beginner.

Customer Rating Good for younger learners as the book moves at a very steady pace & is well structured. However, you might want to try a different book for fast learners as they could get frustrated with the slow pace!

Customer Rating This is a great first piano book for younger beginners. I especially like the way the left hand is introduced almost from the beginning, instead of halfway through as happens with some other tutors.

Customer Rating This is great for the younger beginner. I particularly like the way the left hand is used almost from the beginning, so is very useful for left handed students who often find the right hand more difficult.
