What can I say about Olivet to Calvary? Well, to start with, it's a shame it isn't performed as often as Stainer's Crucifixion. Maunder is a master at contrasting ferocious and passionate choral passages with subtle and beautifully crafted tenor solos that leave a tingle in the spine and most likely a tear in the eye. Maunder's works really are treasures and how nice to see them still in print.

Musically Olivet to Calvary is a delight to sing, whether you are a soloist or a chorus member. I have had the pleasure of both Soprano soloist, and Bass chorus member. It is also very pleasant to the ear of the audience, and it is a great pity that its popularity seems to have diminished. It is equally as good as Stainer's Crucifixon.
