British composer and conductor James Whitbourn had an international reputation as a composer from the start of his career as a Programme maker at the BBC; during his time there he produced many award-wining programmes and developed a style that gave him a direct connection with an audience.
This well accomplished composer has received many awards for his work including, among others, two Grammy nominations and a Royal Television Society Award.
In the June 2015 edition of 'Sunday by Sunday', Were You There? is described as "effective, atmospheric and not too difficult."
