Seven pieces from Israel, originally Songs and Dances, with authentic Hebrew titles. The word "Klezmer" is derived from Hebrew, and loosely translated means musical instrument. An eastern European tradition, Klezmirim (Jewish folk musicians) traveled from town to town to entertain at weddings, Bar Mitzvahs, and other occasions.

The music is in four basic parts with the "melody line" not always restricted to the top part. The score includes chord symbols on the three melody lines so that accordion and keyboard players can play along.

Musicroom Reviews

Rating Review
Customer Rating I bought this to try with some of my younger school ensembles to introduce them to a different genre of music of which they might not be aware. It is a good introduction and everyone appeared to enjoy themselves. It is a bit different and new and they are relatively easy and homophonic. I would say roughly around grades 3-4. It is good that out of the 7 movements the melody line is not always in part one and there are different parts for different transposing instruments across the 4 lines/voices. However, some parts are written in awkward keys using double sharps/flats for the Eb saxophone parts (G#minor instead of Ab minor). Personally I think this is quite poor for a publishing house and puts you off performing a couple of the movements. There are not many other arrangements out there so this is probably the best of the lot but it could be better and more thought could have been put in by the publisher.
