GB Gaudete Choir, Edinburgh
It is a sublime piece of music and not too difficult to learn.

It's difficult to choose a favourite section. Gjielo's style involves layering and tonal saturation, but any complexities are managed in a way that makes them pretty easy to manage. My not brilliant choir almost succeeded in sight reading this.
I don't think that there are any bad points as such

Good music, highly appreciated by the public. Good print and good explanation.
11 pages without staples is a bit clumsy

Musicroom Reviews

Rating Review
Customer Rating A very atmospheric piece which achieves richness of texture and mood through fairly simple, open 4 part writing with little divisi.
Altos have a main role with chant-like text accompanied by some beautiful repetitive harmonies from the other parts. My choir loves singing this.

Customer Rating his is a very atmospheric piece - but not over taxing.
Have also sung his Ubi Caritas. Worth getting if you haven't already done so.

Customer Rating Having sung two of Mr Gjeilo's other pieces ("Ubi Caritas" and "Serenity"), which were universally loved by singers and audiences alike, I thought I'd give this piece a try. It didn't disappoint. It is a very effective acappella piece, which is not especially difficult to sing. Note, however, that while this is listed as "SATB", there is a very short passage that has divisi alto and tenor parts.
