Description

This is Tom Waits' 19th album in a career spanning nearly three decades. The most bluesy to date, it is still characterised by fantastical characters, surreal fantasies and a gritty, 'artfully scratched' sound. Here are all the songs from the album, arranged for piano and voice with lyrics and guitar chord boxes.

Rating Review
Customer Rating I’ve had a copy of this book for a few years and it is one of my favourite collections of music. Most of the album ‘Mule Variations’ is really perfect for solo Piano with the exception of one or two songs such as ‘Big In Japan’ and ‘Filipino Box Spring Hog’.
All the songs are written so the Piano plays the tune, so, if you’re nervous about singing, it needn’t matter.

The songs in this book are really beautiful and range from ballads like ‘Georgia Lee’ to the bluesy ‘Black Market Baby’ and the gospel like ‘Come On Up To The House’. By far my favourite song is ‘Picture in A Frame’ which is a delicate and gentle love song which sounds wonderful on piano. If you like Tom Wait’s light bluesy writing you should love this book as there is a huge amount of music in it which is relatively easy to play.
