The words from the 15th century are newly composed into a lilting carol-anthem of great simplicity, and in just four parts. An optional fifth part enters towards the end with a glorious descant. This is a gem, and you will love it!

Sutton Coldfield GB Parish church organist
A haunting carol. Philip Stopford somehow succeeds in making the carol sound both modern and ancient at the same time. He keeps the listener waiting 119 bars before finally having the satisfaction of hearing an A flat major chord in its root position!
The solo is ingenious but needs the purest of singers.

Customer Rating This is a beautifully haunting piece for SATB(unaccompanied)choir. It requires good balance and control from the singers. It uses the words of the well-known "Coventry Carol" so is a very useful piece for Carol services as well as a concert item. Thoroughly recommended.

Customer Rating Quite simply, a beautiful haunting piece for SATB, which would enhance any carol service or concert. Scored well for each of the four voice parts with a soaring soprano solo at the end. Get hold of a copy while you can.
