Media: Sheet Music
Arrangement: Bassoon (BSN)
Composer: Camille Saint-Saëns
Catalogue #: HN966

After the Oboe and Clarinet sonata, the Bassoon sonata forms the conclusion of the wind compositions from Saint-Saens due to his death in 1921 - the also planned Sonata for English Horn never to be composed.

Playing the humorous, not too technically demanding work, you can hardly imagine that the composer did not feel particularly familiar on this instrument.

Chippenham GB County Woodwind Teacher.
First movement is beautiful and not too hard for the young player to tackle quite successfully.
The piano score is a little difficult to read but it is a nice edition.
