Customer Reviews

Rating Review
Customer Rating Per Nørgård is certainly one of Denmark's most talented Symphonists! Per Nørgård is to Denmark what Lutoslawski was to Poland and Henze is to Germany - they all breathed new life into the form of the "symphony" - (I suppose like his compatriot Nielsen before him).
Of all Per Nørgård's 6 Symphonies, perhaps No 3 is his most exciting and most beautiful. A work of the 1970's it sounds as though it comes from the 1970s in its apparently free breathing waves - but this 2-movement piece is built on a strict sound structure of revolutionary origin. Buy this finely crafted and, yes, expensive score (this is one score which could do with being on special offer every so often!), and you will learn about this revolutionary technique. Or forget about the theory and just allow yourself to be carried away on the mass of sound.
