Description

Since the 1950s the upright Bass has performed a distinctive role in the Rockabilly sound, a Lee Rocker's unique DVD gives you a close-up guide to the exciting slap technique. By combining plucked bass notes with the slap of the palm hitting the strings against the fingerboard, spectacular multi-rhythmic patterns can be created that will stop any show!
Rocker's tutorial includes a wealth of information concerning amplification, Bass set-up and getting the best possible sound, as well as providing a comprehensive guide to all aspects of the slap technique. Furthermore, you will be treated to some breathtaking performances by Big Blue, showing you exactly how the upright Rockabilly Bass should sound as part of a band.

Rating Review
Customer Rating Very dissapointed with this DVD, I felt that the content was very basic, yes he shows you how to produce that slap sound, and what notes make up a 7th cord, but that's about it, theres no written booklet with any of the patterns he plays written out either in tab or notation, as there have been with every other instructional DVD I've brought. In my opinion you would get as much, if not more information by going to see a band with a slap bass player and talking to him at the end of the gig, and save yourself £23.
