Joseph-Hector Fiocco: Allegro (Violin)
Description
A popular and inventive quasi-Fantasia by Joseph Hector Fiocco, arranged for Violin with Piano accompaniment by Arthur Bent and Norman O’Neill.
This short work is full of energy, displaying some of motivic and sequential writing that is the hallmark of Baroque composition. The accompaniment reflects the figured bass tradition with a rolling left-hand line that is punctuated with homophonic staccato stabs. A hugely entertaining concert piece that demonstrates the transitional, pre-Classical period writing.
The solo Violin part is also included on a separate insert.
