We know Henri Duparc for only a small number of art songs he composed between 1868 and 1884, but his musical legacy is a rare one. Settings of works by Baudelaire, Leconte de Lisle, are masterworks of sensuous beauty, rich in emotion, artfully conveying the poetic atmosphere of their texts. Included in this one volume are all Sixteen songs and one duet, reprinted from authoritative French editions.
