Description

When Brahms, Mendelssohn and Schumann composed for the organ, all three turned for inspiration to the musical style of the late Baroque period. Includes 11 'Choral Preludes' by Brahms, three 'Preludes And Fugues' by Mendelssohn, six 'Fugues' by Schumann and other works by the composers.

Customer Reviews

Rating Review
Customer Rating Useful collection of organ sonatas, printed in original form. Some of more difficult movements suitable for advanced organists though plenty in there playable by intermediate players. The collection contains some very good material for church services. The A4 portrait format and sometimes tightly spaced notation is not so easy to read when looking up to the higher desk of a 4 manual instrument. Personally I prefer landscape orientation for music on 3 staves with slightly wide spacing. Paper quality is a little economy and grainy quality and the book didn't always lie flat when open. Overall though the set is good value containing important repertoire.
