Description

There is no other tutor like it. A complete system in five books that takes the student from the very first notes to Grade Eight and beyond. Beautifully presented and printed with visual clarity that helps the student learn to read music. No distracting cartoons. Enjoyable duets for pupil and teacher. Suitable for ALL ages.

Book Two - introduces Finger Patterns No 2, No 3 & No 4, together with portato bowing, linked dotted bowing, extended scales, chromatics, minor scales, scales in broken thirds, elementary finger exercises, double stops and the general development of sound bowing. There are many original violin duets throughout. Some are published separately with piano accompaniments by Sally Mays. (This book covers the requirements for Grade One and Two.)

Rating Review
Customer Rating Not being familiar with the first book in the series (for beginners) I bought this for a grade 1-2 pupil. The book is very thorough and well-written, more directed to the older and/or more serious pupil than those who like pictures, CD backings and jazzy pieces. There are many excellent technical exercises, bowing techniques, extended scales etc. It does not correspond directly to ABRSM grade requirements, but goes further e.g. introducing Eb and Ab.
