It is market day - we are treated to all things vegetable and fruit, as well as an enormous array of wonderful hats.
Grandpère Pierre relishes speaking his broken English -language misunderstandings lead to some amusing dialogue. A wedding is scheduled at the Town Hall and every fabulous hat on sale in the market features in the wedding celebrations.
In all, quite a memorable day for everyone!
The play uses standard beginner’s French vocabulary and phrases Opportunities are given for pupils to write their own French lines.
English is also spoken albeit with a heavy French accent, which enables audiences and non-French speakers to easily follow the unfolding events.
