Benjamin Britten’s Simple Symphony is based on eight themes which he wrote during his childhood and reworked after graduating from the Royal Conservatory of Music. The evocative titles of each movement tell of the character of each piece, which are all exuberant and enjoyable for amateur and school orchestras.
