Rating Review
Customer Rating I am enjoying this book. It covers a wide variety of music including folk tunes, bluegrass numbers, classics etc. I particularly like the arrangements of the Italian pieces - despite the fact that many people would consider this to be 'typical' mandolin music, arrangements of these are rare and difficult to come by so their inclusion is a bonus. Some of the other arrangements are relatively simple but they are always well put together and the introductory notes are a delight. Also included are some more challenging classical pieces which I haven't mastered yet! I have given the book 5 stars because of its sheer value - the only minor gripe is that it is difficult to keep open at the middle pages without damaging the binding.

Customer Rating I Love this book - I've only recently started playing the mandolin and yes, you need to learn the scales and chords and techniques, but this is great for getting on with playing something recognisable. The standard notation and TAB give you the option to read whatever you feel more comfortable with, and there is plenty of scope for some very tricky pieces to move onto.
