Rating Review
Customer Rating Differs from the John Miller DVD I've already reviewed in that the tutors are more interested in the JH style than in note-for-note. So you get 2 versions of John Henry and an extended version of Got the Blues - in this case Happy-Traum style. Richland Woman figures on both DVDs; but no indication is given here of the recording their version is based on. That's deliberate, however, because Traum/Sebastian want you to feel free to develop the style for yourself. I'll never be good enough to do that, but it's great to see with what affection - and respect - 2 such accomplished musicians regard JH the man and his music. The interview with Sam Hood casts interesting light on the Greenwich Village scene.
