Description

In 2003, light-Jazz sensation Jamie Cullum released his debut album Twentysomething to much acclaim, it is an infectious blend of old and new, jazz and pop, proving that he is more than just a crossover artist. With covers of tracks by Jimi Hendrix and Jeff Buckley, mixed in with Sinatra and Cole Porter numbers and his own originals, Cullum demonstrates his versatility and depth. All the tracks from the album are here in arrangements by friend and collaborator, Geoff Gascoyne, for Piano, Voice and Guitar with full lyrics.

Rating Review
Customer Rating This book deserves more than 5 stars. It's an ace book and I have spent many hours playing it since I brought it. I can't stop - it's that good!
Ket

Customer Rating This is a good book to learn Jamie Culum songs. It's not easy, but all of the pieces are transcribed well and sound right. If you play the piano and sing this book will have you occupied for a long time.

Customer Rating This was disappointing. Simplistic arrangements - bass in left hand and vocals in right, largely. Avoid this or do what I did and swap it for the "Jamie Cullum Collection," lots of the best songs off Twentysomething arranged properly for voice with piano complementing rather than imitating vocals. With that one you can really pretend you're an upcoming jazz star!

Customer Rating I wasn't sure if the transcription of the songs would be as I expected, but once I opened the book I thought it was amazing. There are piano solos for you to put your own improvisations in !

The music isn't really hard, but is not really easy either, it is a nice standard of music to play.

Customer Rating Excellent transcription of the album, done in a style so it looks handwritten - very jazz! Good that you have an opportunity to improvise yourself in some of the lead breaks. This is not an easy book to have and I would recommend it for upper intermediate and advanced piano players...

Customer Rating The man is a genious - enough said! From Parky to the world! The arrangements are simple enough for a woman with little hands (like me!) to manage and there is plenty of room for improvisation - as all great Jazz artists should! The inclusion of the string and brass parts liven the whole thing up a bit.

Customer Rating This book really is brilliant!! I love every song in this collection. 'what a difference a day makes' is a great starter to warm up for the laid back style of music playing. You are able to improvise and make your own music up in some parts of songs, which is a advantage because it gives you chance to show your ability and variation, It gives you chords to help. He really is a talented artist! The music sheets are just like the album. 5 out of 5 from me and definitely recommended.

Customer Rating I ordered this book after going to see Jamie Cullum in Liverpool, and I thought he was brilliant. The piano book didn't disappoint me, all the songs from "twentysomething" are on it, and they are relatively easy to play. Jamie's solos are not included, which I expected because he improvises most the time. I recommend this book, for all fans of jazz and Mr. Cullum!

Customer Rating I didn't really find what I was looking for in this songbook- the interpretations were too simple and often make no sense. If your looking for a taste of the meaty solos that Jamie cooks up in the songs then this won't be for you either. Good for the beginner but not very challenging for the more accomplished.
