Rating Review

Customer Rating Dont expect this DVD to be a step by step guide guide to every riff and solo in the songs which it covers. Instead it takes the best Hetfield riffs and best part of Hammets solo's in order to give an insight into the way Metallica perform. Some very useful techniques can be learnt which are applicable to other Metallica songs. I'd say it gives a good feel of the level of competency you need to be to play some of this stuff. The only downside is that the guy who is teaching in the DVD quite often uses alternate picking for chugging riffs such as Master of Puppets, when the actual song contains only downpicks. It is also incredibly frustrating when you see the solo's played at full speed, just try not to cry if you haven't been playing since you were 4 and had lessons with Joe Satriani. Overall well worth the money, if only as a useful insight into the Metallica Style. Enough for beginners and experienced players alike.
