I wouldn't usually use this book but have recently taken on some students who have been using the series. While it is nice to play tunes right from the start it doesn't teach reading very well. I have found that children who have learned using this system struggle to remember note names and to associate where the notes are on the stave with where they are on the keyboard.

A book that will please and motivate kids and musical parents. The pages are boldly and clearly laid out, the learning progression is excellent. The accompaniments on the CD are fun and highly musical, and these are also included in the book for teachers or parents to play along with their kids. If you want to expand and teach more, the Practice Games book is good too.
