Description

The Stones 65-67 is a stunning 224 page, limited edition hardback book, signed and individually numbered by Gered Mankowitz, who is a leading rock photographer of his generation. In early 1965 Andrew Oldham, who was the Stones manager at the time, asked him to a photograph the band and as a result he was invited to go to America with them on their record-breaking 1965 tour. Mankowitz photographed the Stones on stage and off and then continued working with them as their official photographer until 1967, when the band broke off with their manager, Oldham. Mankowitz shadowed the band during this period and in that time he produced photos for albums, press and publicity and also framed the band at home, in the recording studio, on stage and behind the scenes. This superb, high quality book is packed with rare and previously unseen images of the Stones at their prime, many of the pictures also have accompanying text from Mankowitz.

In addition, this edition is accompanied by a bonus 32-page softback book entitled The Stones '82. This features more great shots of the band in the studio during the early 1980s.

Both books are housed in a matching red slipcase which has been overprinted with white lettering.

Box size 12" x 10"

Limited edition 1000 copies.
