Rating Review
Customer Rating Follows the usual 'complete player' format of practising new steps with appropriate songs. Fingering for the notes is illustrated with small but adequate photos. Because the clarinet can play a wide range of notes, this book only covers part of the range (but enough for a good set of tunes), with the rest covered in the other volumes. The book concentrates on playing, so doesn't cover instrument choice or maintenance - but does tell you how to assemble the instrument.

Customer Rating This is a great book for complete beginners (like me).

I liked it for its choice of songs which are all in the chalumeau (bottom) register of the clarinet. The songs are simple and the keys are easy. I was thrilled when I managed to play Strangers in the Night and my family recognised it!

I have mostly used the book A New Tune a Day for the Clarinet as my textbook as it comes with a CD and seemed to have a better system for teaching but as a book of beginner tunes The Complete Clarinet Player can't be beaten and I always turn to it when I've finished practising and want some fun.
