My wife purchased this for me for my Alto Sax. In my opinion it doesn't reduce the volume 5% much less 50%. An absolute waste of money. Very disappointed in Labayle for producing this product and equally disappointed in Musicroom for selling it. It deserves 0 stars. I read the instructions and installed it accordingly.

I like it. I think the reason people are occasionally disappointed is the name. It should be called a muffler not a mute - ie it makes it a bit less noisy rather than not noisy at all. I put another mute thing on at the same time, you know one of those metal rings with cork around them and a hole in the middle. Then you really can tell the difference. Still don't practice after 11pm though but that's no biggie. xx
