Description

This overview of fingerstyle repertoire and technique will immerse learning players in the work of eight guitarists who are redefining acoustic guitar music. They include Celtic and classical repertoire, song accompaniment, contemporary compositions and other challenging pieces.

The term 'fingerstyle' denotes the use of thumb and two or three fingers of the picking hand to achieve moving bass lines, sharply delineated melodies and complex harmonies. Acoustic fingerstyle guitarists have made some of the most creative and compelling music in recent years, with some artists using classical guitar techniques to create their music and others blending classical or jazz elements with traditional folk styles. Some fingerstylists apply their skills to enhancing song accompaniments, while others push the boundaries of the guitar with new and inventive sounds.

Includes music and tab.

Taught by Chris Proctor, Martin Simpson, David Wilcox, Preston Reed, Muriel Anderson, Frederic Hand, Alex de Grassi, and Laurence Juber.
