Description
Belfast punk rockers Stiff Little Fingers crashed into the public consciousness in 1977, when their first self-financed single Suspect Device was played every night for over a week by revered DJ John Peel. The band's debut LP Inflammable Material was the first album pressing for the now hugely significant Rough Trade label. Their songs were anthemic and politically acute, at a time of great turbulence and social unrest.
Song By Song traces the lengthly career of Stiff Little Fingers, assembled from conversations between frontman Jake Burns and life-long fan Alan Parker. In this revealing interview, Burns discusses the inspirations and driving forces that have resulted in some of the most passionate and meaningful songs of the last three decades.
