Description
In any style, solos and melodies make use of the notes in the chords that are being played. To construct a solo that is both coherent as well as thrilling, it is essential to develop a complete understanding of chords and the harmonic potential they contain. Armed with the knowledge and experience of harmony, you'll be able to solo over virtually any song or progression with complete confidence that the notes you ar choosing will not only fit, they'll sound amazing!
In this in-depth tutorial from the Musicians Institute, Barrett Tagliarino analyses the fretboard and presents a detailed guide to finding exactly those notes you're looking for, whatever the musical situation. You'll discover scales, modes, extensions, modal interchange and how to handle modulations, all with the support of an audio CD that lets you hear the different tonalities and melodic progressions in a musical context. There's a wealth of exercises designed to expand your soloing vocabulary and to increase your fretboard fluidity.
Master the whole musical range of your instrument, and enjoy the limitless possibilities of confident and fluent improvisation.

Review
Wow!! a really good tutor book to enhance improvisation skills. As with a lot of music instruction books, it start really basic and then goes really in depth. It's not the sort of book you can read once and have it all sussed, you'll need to give it regular daily attention to get the best out of this book, lots to learn here!
