Customer Rating I believe that this is one of the best flute tutor books available and would be suitable for beginners through to advanced players. It is not for the faint hearted though as it is very comprehensive and demands attention and lots of practice to master the art of playing the flute correctly following Trevor's method. However, if you really want to become a great flute player I suspect that this is an invaluable resource. Thank you Trevor Wye.

Customer Rating My son is learning flute at grade 4 level. His teacher recommended 2 of the 5 books, but is very glad for us to get all 5 as well as the CD for £25. He thought it would cost us a lot more. It is very good value for money, as for each book it costs typically £7-8 anywhere else. Received the book 2 days after order. Very happy for the service.

Customer Rating The set of books cover all aspects of technique for the flute player. Stick with them, cherry pick to suit yourself or students and they WILL help to improve your playing.
The only down side is some of the pompous sounding guff that goes with some of the explanations, which is an immediate switch off. A simple explanation would have sufficed.
However, much of it is not rocket science, but Trevor Wye wrote it down!

Customer Rating The book is very useful for improving technique.

I was hoping the CD would cover all 5 books, but unfortunately it is only for the 1st book. Personally I didn't find this CD very useful. It gave examples of 'purple' and 'yellow' tones. If you already understand this concept, is not worth the extra money. Sounds silly, but the individual books also sit on a music stand better than this spiral bound omnibus version! Also, just to note there is a 6th book, which for some reason they have chosen not to include.
