As an original member of both Joe Zawinul's Zawinul Syndicate and Ramsey Lewis's Urban Knights, bassist Victor Bailey has played both contemporary jazz with a rock edge and R&B-laced jazz. His style and technique are second to none, taking influences from such heroes as Jaco Pastorius, and building a session career that has seen him perform alongside countless masters, from Mike Stern and Sonny Rollins to Madonna and Mary J. Blige.
