Description

Progressive Percussion Method For Young Beginners is a carefully designed method which introduces the younger student to the basics of percussion playing and music. Written by Peter Gelling, this book introduces the basics of playing claves (rhythm sticks), bongo drums and the triangle in various combinations from solo up to a quartet. Whole, half, quarter and eighth notes with the equivalent rests are learned through a repertoire of popular children's songs. The book concludes with a lesson introducing the drumkit. This book is accompanied by beautiful illustrations, by James and Hazel Stuart, which makings learning more fun for children.

The accompanying CD contains demonstrations of the examples presented in this book.
