Following the success of Asleep In The Back and Cast Of Thousands, Leaders Of The Free World is much more reflective, understated and delicate than the stadium sensibilities or garage thrash of their immediate contemporaries. Guy Garvey's vocals are heartbreakingly poignant, with lyrics of true introspection that recall the finest moments of Nick Drake and Neil Young, with the melodic invention of Sigur Ros.
