Play Percussion is a fantastic series of books and supporting materials containing exercises and studies for all the major percussion instruments and components of the drum kit. This is the second part of Keith Bartlett's tutorial, for intermediate to advanced players, featuring another 100 Rock beats with which to practice, hone, play and improvise. It is intended to be used as a continuation of 100 Rock Beats for Drum Kit, builds on these basics of Rock Drums, and is aimed at the intermediate player who has mastered these fundamentals and is ready to develop them further. Bartlett takes the student methodically from relatively simple patterns in the first section to many more adventurous ideas in section 7 with 100 original and inventive ideas, exercises and preparation for ABRSM exams, covering: semi-quaver hi-hat feel, off-beat feel, open hi-hat feel and numerous combinations.
