Progressive Jazz Bass is an enjoyable and comprehensive book which introduces the beginner to the basics of playing Jazz Bass Guitar, and so no previous knowledge of bass guitar playing or music is necessary. Music theory is gradually introduced in a very easy and clear way, using over seventy examples. You do not need to be able to read music to use this book, however, both music and tablature notations are used to show the position of the notes on the fretboard. The accompanying CD contains recordings of all the examples and will help to support your learning, as you will be able to hear what you are trying to achieve and you can play along with the backing band.
