Rating Review

Customer Rating I am addicted to playing this at the moment. It has four versions of each tune, two slow and two fast, one pair has a sax and one has not. I find this easier than the Aebersold system where the instrument is on one channel and you have to cut that out, or on some systems where there is no lead instrument on which to model your playing. Reading music is all very well, but written music does not convey everything about a performance, such as tone for example. (The music is well printed, by the way, and easy to read.) The tenor player on this set is amazingly fast and clean-how I envy him! The only reason I have not given this four stars is because I think that to make this perfect, some alternative fingerings could be provided, they should chuck in another extra couple of tracks, like Scrapple from the Apple for example, and an unusual thing. As you play the CD again and again, it soon starts to skip and to do strange things. It's a great course though, and I'll buy it again soon when the CD perishes through over use. Happy playing!
