Alexander Siloti is most famously remembered as both a student of Franz Liszt, and as a teacher of Sergei Rachmaninov - he was, however, also one of the most gifted Pianists Russia has ever produced, and this generous collection features Siloti's own transcriptions of his favourite performance works for solo Piano. The selections range from the pioneering Keyboard wroks of Bach, to the melodic invention of Chopin, Liszt, Scriabin and Rachmaninov.
