Rating Review
Customer Rating This is not a review, but a note on the author. Lela Hoover Ward (1888-1975), was my grandmother. Widowed and left with two young daughters, she supported herself by teaching piano for over 50 years in Guelph, Ontario. In middle age she wrote a number of beginners' books, illustrated by her daughter, Ruth Ward Farrell, of which this was the most successful. It was dedicated to me and my brother, and I am delighted to see that it is still in print.

Customer Rating I used this book over 30 years ago as a child and even today the rhymes are still with me - this is a wonderful book and I am just now recommending it to a friend for his 5 year old daughter and hope that she enjoys it as much as I did.

Customer Rating Occasionally beginner students bring other tutor books which I try to use. I always wish that I had insisted on Jibbidy-F. It does need a teacher to explain some things (which is good). It puts hands together early on and this is a much better grounding for future sight-reading. Nice tunes and well-paced progression of skills: particularly good for young students.

Customer Rating This is a fantastic music book to get you started with the piano. It has been around for many years and is still as good today for my children as it was when I used it many years ago. I am really impressed that this is still available and it beats a lot of the more recenly published learn to play books hands down.
