Rating Review

Customer Rating Wonderful book. The music in the book exactly matches the music played on the CD. I'm a beginning piano student, but I can now play Met-1. I strongly recommend this book for anyone who likes Philip Glass, including beginning piano players. For those of you more advanced than me (and that's probably most of you), rest assured that the later songs are much more challenging.

Customer Rating This music is simply astonishing! The peices get progressivly harder and start at a level which almost anyone could play so this book is perfect for developing your piano skills! The sole annoying thing is that the book itself is not ring bound, so the pages are forever turning themselves the wrong way.

Customer Rating Philip Glass is best known for his recent soundtrack to the film "The Hours" and this minimalism piano collection is on a similar theme. The collection of "Metamorphosis 1-5" perhaps shows limiting musical development, however like Ludovico Einaudi, they provide easy listening and are generally enjoyable and challenging to play. "Wichita Vortex Sutra" is in my opinion the best in this piano album, being the most expressive and showing the most musical development. In all, a good buy for any musician keen on Glass' minimalist style.
