Rating Review

Customer Rating The Blues saxophone fills a gaping hole in the sheet music market, it’s true to say that it gives “an in-depth look at the styles of the sax masters” is pushing it a bit, “a glimpse into the styles of the sax masters” would be a better phase, but it does give you several examples of sax solo’s and melody lines in the style of the sax blues, r & b, rock n roll legends and as such does a good job, it may be argued that Mr. Taylor’s playing lacks some of the gusto of the originals but this is hardly surprising, and you couldn’t reasonably expect one player to play as well as all the originals. I would say this book is a must if only because there is nothing else out there like it, so if you’re a sax player or even play an other instrument like guitar and are interested in this style of music, this is a must have.
