Description
A dramatic and descriptive suite of eight pieces for Organ, based upon the wager between God and Satan on the fate of a human being - unlike Faust, Job humanly accepted his misfortune and triumphed, as told in The Book Of Job. Musical themes are derived from quotations from The Book Of Job, creating a concert work of huge gravity and captivating contrasts.
Commissioned by the Harrogate International Festival, and first performed at Ripon Cathedral in August 1987.
