Rating Review

Customer Rating The piece begins with an eerie quality, with each of the 8 parts beginning at different times, working up the tessatura range. The opening section being quiet and slow, the soprano soloist enters before the 'female' chorus sings an enlightening phrase. The tenor soloist and mens chorus repeat this. The piece continues with female/male splits until the end of the Nunc. The Gloria begins in unison before moving into an almost fugal section, with a 1st/2nd split, parts singing a falling scale before the build-up at the and getting higher each note until the "men" of "amen". It is an amazing piece that sends a shiver down my spine everytime I hear it. It is very atmospheric, yet the change from the opening to the end is quite different! A wonderful, yet underrated piece.
