Customer Rating There are plenty of early polyphonic works from St. Mark's in Venice, but this one, by the Gabrielli the older is indescribable in its intricacy and beauty. A Magnificat for THREE CHOIRS! In the first twenty bars, goosebumps are raised as the soft words are echoed as if by thunder. Then a "tria-logue" is worked out culminating with long, slowly modulating sections until an ending that, because of the timbre of three simultaneous choirs, sounds more like a brass choir. Seldom heard, but well worth the search and trouble. Have only seen one recording of this and can't seem to put my hands on this. Performed it at Friends University, Wichita, Ks and on tour through Europe.
