Rating Review

Customer Rating This book is for pickers who favour the Scruggs 3-finger style, but covers a range of musical styles. Bluegrass is, surprisingly, kept on the back-burner, and the student is encouraged to develop their repertoire with classical numbers, fiddle tunes and Irish jigs. A true banjo devotee will find this resource very useful and can add a number of styles, techniques and tunes to their arsenal. Improvisation is encouraged, as is an understanding of keys and scales. Best of all, the book has numerous interviews and banjo philosophy from many of history's most influential banjo men... including Earl Scruggs himself.
