Review
One of the most beautiful pieces of classical repertoire for the viola, indeed for any instrument. The first movement is peaceful bliss with position changes, the second movement is one of my favourite movements in all classical music. So simple, with arpeggios and scales, it is so beautiful. The fourth movement is also a fast paced rhythmic masterpiece. Telemann has composed one of the greatest concertoes for viola in history here. It flows with baroque charm and movement, showing simplicity at its best. Highly, highly recommended.
Anon.
A classic baroque piece, it oozes perfect melodies and harmonies. The style is technically sound, with added performance dynamics. The piece is perfect for the younger performers, looking to work on their technique and intonation. The first movement uses a lot of vibrato and allows the performer to test out large crescendos. The second movement is mostly in first position. A truly wonderful concerto, that should be in every young violist's repertoire.
