Description

Probably one of Sergei Rachmaninov's most well-loved works, the Prelude In C Sharp Minor is sometimes nicknamed "The Bells of Moscow" for its stately darkness, like "bells ringing on a dark winter's night". The gloomy, brooding chordal opening is contrasted with a tense restless, middle section, which does not break the mood, but offers livelier and more driven music before the monolithic restatement of the chordal opening theme.

Rating Review
Customer Rating Rachmaninov's Prelude in C # minor is the work of god. Listening to this masterpeice, especially when having studied the sheet music, leads me to beleive that the Prelude was written by god and only god himself could play it! From this musicians point of view Prelude is the #1 piano peice ever written.

Customer Rating Anyone who has yet to discover Prelude In C Sharp Minor will be absolutely blown away by its such evilness. It's a very hard piece to learn, with three and four fingered chords played fast together in both hands. It has a massive contrast in dynamic, from ppp going on to sffff. The best part is the hardest- the Agitato played in the middle!
