Customer Reviews

Rating Review
Customer Rating Peterson's jazz exercises are definately for the committed jazz pianist. They are not as easy on the ear as you would imagine considering the composer's standing in the world of jazz.

Customer Rating Some gems in here - but they are not immediately obvious. This is a book to spend time with and work with - it's a pity there aren't some fuller explanations to help people like myself who don't really play jazz (like knowing when to play swing rhythms). But some excellent and fun exercises to help pupils strengthen fingers and improve dexterity etc.

Customer Rating Excellent book, Excellent and fast service.

Customer Rating A nicely presented book with clear and good sized printing. This combines the old multi volume series into one, so better value. The numbers of some of the pieces have changed, but no confusion, unless you had the old series or talk to someone who refers to an Etude, for example, in the old series.

Customer Rating Good book - exercises etc. graded in difficulty, working on different techniques leading to more challenging, interesting sounding pieces later on.

Customer Rating This is a great book for introducing younger teenagers to some jazz melodies and short pieces. Also wonderful material to use in between exams (Grade 5 - 7) or playing through the pieces to improve sight-reading and becoming familiar with the jazz idiom. Excellent!

Customer Rating I bought this for my brother and he seemed delighted with it, as far as jazz can be taught, he was happy with the level of tuition.
