Description

Vlado Perlemuter had the privilege of studying all Maurice Ravel's solo Piano music with the reclusive composer himself. This extraordinary experience was later to lead to a series of broadcasts for Radio Francaise in which Perlemuter played and discussed all Ravel's solo Piano pieces with Violinist Helene Jourdan-Morange. The transcripts of these remarkable conversations form this unique and important book - a must for all enthusiasts and a fascinating profile of Ravel's malgical sound-world.

Rating Review
Customer Rating For those of us with a passion for Ravel. This little book is as close to a conversation with the man himself as we can get.

The entire book is a transcript of the aired interviews of Vlado Perlemuter. A legendary pianist who studied Ravel's entire catalogue with the composer himself.

He provides not only detailed analysis and performance notes on all the popular solo works, and the two concertos; he also relays interesting anecdotes about Ravel himself.

A beautiful little book with plenty of concise information.

Play Ravel, the way Ravel would have taught you to!
