Description

This three-movement Sonata was originally written for Violin and Piano. The music is attributed to Bach but there is some doubt as to whether Bach himself composed this work. This edition is transcribed for Saxophone with Piano accompaniment and includes parts for Alto Saxophone in E Flat and Soprano or Tenor Saxophone in B Flat. Suitable for ABRSM exams.

Rating Review
Customer Rating There's something satisfying about Bach in both a mathematical and emotional way and this is a very satisfying piece. Complete and perfectly formed. I love it - and I play the piano part. Put the sax with it and it really makes sense, even though the sax was not around at the time this was written. (Add some drums/percussion and you've got some jazz too - apologies to Jacques Loussier! Bach just swings naturally. Not for the purists?) Definitely recommended!

Customer Rating This is an attractive and enjoyable piece of music which is on the ABRSM alto saxophone syllabus for grade 7 (movement 1) and grade 8 (movements 2 + 3). Separate parts are provided for Eb and Bb saxophones, so you can play this on alto, tenor, or soprano.

Customer Rating Typical Bach. I really enjoyed playing this piece. Great grade 8 piece to choose.
