Rating Review
Customer Rating I am a fledgling piano player and bought this for reading practise as much as anything else. I knew the songs of course from years ago as a prog lover in shorts. The book is a real period piece and has not changed at all since it's original appearance in 1873. There is even an interview with a sound engineer and a few photos of some lorries. For some reason the people who put together books, TV progs etc about prog always assumed one would be interested in lorries. Personally, I couldn't care less if Pink Floyd or Genesis transported their gear using traction engines or giraffes or roller skates. The important thing was the music.....and most if it was rubbish, if we're honest. However, The Great Gig In The Sky is, to my mind, a lovely piece of work and I have delighted myself by working it out from this book and playing it on my piano. The Eb's are not marked properly - you have to work out whether they are flattened or natural yourself - but as a whole the piece is well notated. It would be ludicrous to try and play a guitar piece such as 'money' on piano, but it's a free country.... Anyway, I like this book and consider the whatever it was I paid for it well worth the opportunity to slip into Rick Wright's mind via his fingers.
Anon.

Customer Rating Every song on this album is a real gem. It is a pleasure to play such influential music, with note-for-note accuracy. One small thing however, this book does not include any of Gilmour's Guitar solos.
